Bushnell DOB Dobsonian Telescopes
Bushnell DOB series Dobsonian telescopes provide a lot of raw magnification power in a light, easily transported package thanks to the weight-saving and compact truss design. With either a 5 inch or 6 inch mirror Newtonian reflector design, the DOB5 and DOB6 are powerful telescopes. Many amateur astronomers choose this design as their second telescope when they move beyond their first beginner telescope.
These Bushnell telescopes come with two eyepieces, and a red dot finder scope. More eye pieces and Barlow lenses can be used with these scopes, so there is room to grow. Also, the friction bearing mounting system allows for more accurate positioning with no drift, as can happen with ball bearing mounts. This by itself will probably convince a lot of amateur astronomers who are tired of having to re-position their scopes when the scope drifts and does not hold position.
We have used these telescopes and really enjoyed them. The price point is very reasonable for the features and raw power of these telescopes.
